After completing this module, students should be able to

• distinguish between a variety of subject-specific terms and concepts;
• use the subject-specific terms and concepts appropriately within a lesson plan;
• define the variety of terms in both English and Afrikaans and explain the terms acquired so that others understand them as well;
• use the subject-specific terms and concepts appropriately within a subject-specific lesson;
• give instructions within a lesson plan;
• integrate English with subject-specific knowledge and methodology;
• understand motivation and how different aspects influence learners and teachers negatively or positively; and
• realise that practical guidelines are necessary and must be applied when they start teaching.
