Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente
- die onderrig kan demonstreer van Luister en Praat in die Grondslagfase;
- benaderings kan vasstel wat tydens leesonderrig in die Grondslagfase-gebruik word;
- metodes kan klassifiseer wat gebruik word om lees in die Grondslagfase te onderrig;
- ’n gebalanseerde leesprogram kan beplan vir die Grondslagfase-klaskamer;
- leesfaktore kan analiseer wat tydens leesonderrig in die Grondslagfase-klaskamer in berekening gebring moet word; en
- ’n program kan beplan vir leerders met leesstruikelblokke sowel as ’n assesseringsprogram vir graad 1-3-leerders.

After completing this module, students should be able to
- demonstrate the teaching of Listening and Speaking for Foundation Phase learners;
- determine the approaches of teaching reading in the Foundation Phase classroom;
- classify the methods that are used in teaching reading in the Foundation Phase;
- plan a balanced reading program for the Foundation Phase classroom;
- analyse the reading factors that must be taken into account when teaching reading in the Foundation Phase classroom; and
- plan a program for learners with reading barriers and an assessment program for grade 1-3 learners.
