Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente

  • die fenomeen "wêreldbeskouing", soos dit in die globale konteks gebruik word, kan verduidelik;
  • 'n bewustheid toon van die wyse waarop "wêreldbeskouing" as konsep binne die studieveld ontwikkel het en die belangrikheid van 'n wêreldbeskouing kan bespreek;
  • 'n geïntegreerde kennis kan demonstreer van 'n Christelike wêreldbeskouing se basiese beginsels, wat ’n begrip van die sleutelterme, konsepte, feite, beginsels en teorieë van hierdie wêreldbeskouing en hoe dit van ander fundamentele wêreldbeskouings verskil, insluit; en
  • die vermoë demonstreer om inligting uit 'n verskeidenheid bronne, waaronder mondelinge, geskrewe of simboliese tekste, te versamel en te selekteer ten einde 'n akademiese skryfstuk te skryf; basiese analise-, sintese- en evalueringsprosesse op daardie inligting kan toepas; oor die vermoë beskik om die versamelde inligting betroubaar, akkuraat en samehangend deur te gee deur gebruik te maak van konvensies wat geskik is vir die konteks; en 'n geskrewe opdrag ingee, met inbegrip van goeie akademiese praktyk en respek vir konvensies rondom intellektuele eiendom, outeursreg en plagiaat.

After completing this module, students should be able to

  • explain the phenomenon “worldview” as it is used in the global context;
  • show an awareness of how “worldview” as a concept developed in the study field and be able to discuss the importance of a worldview;
  • demonstrate integrated knowledge of a Christian worldview’s basic principles, which includes an understanding of the key terms, concepts, facts, principles, and theories of this worldview and how it differs from other fundamental worldviews; and
  • demonstrate the ability to collect and select information from various sources, including oral, written, or symbolic texts, in order to write an academic paper; apply fundamental analysis, synthesis, and evaluation processes to that information; possess the ability to convey the collected information reliably, accurately, and coherently by using conventions suitable for the context; and submit a written assignment, including good academic practice and respect for conventions regarding intellectual property, copyright, and plagiarism.
