Ná die voltooiing van hierdie modules sal studente

  • ‘n duidelike begrip toon van die omvang van lewe en lewende dinge, asook ‘n fundamentele kennis bevat van die kernareas en sleutelbegrippe, konsepte, feite, algemene beginsels, reëls en teorieë met betrekking tot fotosintese, sellulêre respirasie, ekologie, mikro-organismes, die struktuur en funksie van selle en verskillende stelsels in die menslike liggaam en hierdie kennis kan weergee in assessering tydens kontaksessies, semestertoetse en die eksamen;
  • in staat wees om inligting uit ‘n verskeidenheid van bronne te versamel; en inligting kan selekteer wat geskik is om insig te bekom oor 'n gesonde dieet se waarde vir die funksionering van stelsels in die menslike liggaam en hierdie inligting kan analiseer, sintetiseer en evalueer en dit verder ook betroubaar, akkuraat en samehangend mondelings kan kommunikeer by wyse van terugvoer tydens kontaksessies en die skriftelike uiteensetting daarvan in 'n verslag;
  • die vermoë toon om hulle eie prestasie en die prestasies van ander te evalueer en toepaslike aksies te neem waar nodig; verantwoordelikheid kan aanvaar vir hul eie leer binne ‘n gestruktureerde leerproses; en die leer van ander kan bevorder; en
  • insig toon dat Natuurwetenskappe by uitstek handel oor God se skepping en die mens se verantwoordelikheid teenoor die skepping, dit skriftelik en mondelings tydens kontaksessies kan kommunikeer en dit in die voltooiing van opdragte en aktiwiteite kan weergee.

At the end of this module, students should be able to

  • show a clear understanding of the scope of life and living things, as well as possess fundamental knowledge of the core areas and key concepts, concepts, facts, general principles, rules, and theories regarding photosynthesis, cellular respiration, ecology, microorganisms, the structure and function of cells and different systems in the human body and be able to present this knowledge in assessment during contact sessions, semester tests, and the examination;
  • collect information from various sources and select appropriate information for gaining insight into the value of a healthy diet for system functioning in the human body; and analyse, synthesise, and evaluate this information and communicate it verbally in a reliable, accurate and coherent manner through feedback during contact sessions and the written explanation thereof in a report;
  • show the ability to evaluate their own performance and those of others by taking appropriate action where necessary; take responsibility for their own learning within a structured learning process; and promote the learning of others; and
  • show insight that Natural Sciences deal eminently with God’s creation and man’s responsibility for that creation, communicate this in writing and orally during contact sessions, and present it in completing assignments and activities.
