Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente

  • ’n gedetailleerde begrip demonstreer van en 'n gevorderde kennis toon oor: sleutelterme, konsepte, feite, beginsels, reëls en teorieë oor die aarde en maan se bewegings, die struktuur van die aarde en die gesteentes van die aarde;  en hierdie kennis in die onderrig en leer van Natuurwetenskappe en Tegnologie in die Intermediêre Fase tot graad 7 kan toepas;
  • toepaslike metodes, prosedures en tegnieke tydens praktikums kan evalueer, selekteer en toepas om die kenmerke en gebruike van sedimentêre, stollings- en metamorfiese gesteentes te ondersoek en te identifiseer;
  • verskillende inligtingsbronne kan evalueer en inligting selekteer oor die inligtingsprosesseringsteorie van kognitiewe ontwikkeling en die rol van skemata en kognitiewe modules in die onderrig van Natuurwetenskappe en Tegnologie; en goed ontwikkelde prosesse van analise, sintese en evaluasie op die inligting kan toepas ten einde hierdie inligting betroubaar en samehangend voor te stel;

After completing this module, students should be able to

  • demonstrate a detailed understanding and an advanced knowledge of key concepts, facts, principles, rules and theories on the earth and moon’s movements, the structure of the earth, and the rocks of the earth; and apply this knowledge in the teaching and learning of Natural Sciences and Technology in the Intermediate Phase to grade 7;
  • evaluate, select and apply suitable methods, procedures and techniques during practical classes to investigate and identify the characteristics and uses of sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks;
  • evaluate and select various information sources on the information-processing theory of cognitive development and the role of schemata and cognitive modules in the teaching of Natural Sciences and Technology; and apply well-developed processes of analysis, synthesis and evaluation on the information in order to present this information reliably and coherently;
  • evaluate performances according to given criteria; and identify and address own task-specific learning needs and be able to provide support regarding the learning needs of others where it may be necessary; and
  • demonstrate an understanding of the natural phenomena and laws that God created; show insight into Bible texts that give a seemingly contradictory explanation of what science reveals regarding the universe; mention examples or thoughts regarding the nature of creation from a Christian perspective and apply this understanding in the teaching of Natural Sciences and Technology.
