Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente
- basiese kennis kan kommunikeer en skriftelik weergee rondom die geskiedenis van geld en ruilhandel, asook die rol van geld en elektroniese bankdienste;
- die basiese ekonomiese begrippe, naamlik “behoeftes” en “begeertes” kan onderskei en identifiseer en voorts ook die rol van beperkte hulpbronne verstaan om in hierdie behoeftes te voorsien;
- kennis dra van die produksieproses en begrip hê van die funksie wat huishoudings as produsente en verbruikers in die doeltreffende gebruik van goedere en dienste, produktiwiteit en ekonomiese groei vervul;
- kennis dra van rekeningkundige en finansiële begrippe, inkomstes en uitgawes, besparing en banke; vaardighede toon in die opstel van persoonlike begrotings en winsberekening; en praktykgerigte probleme kan oplos;
- kennis dra van entrepreneurskap, tipes besighede (formele sowel as informele besighede), die rolle, voor- en nadele daarvan en die vaardighede wat in die aanbied van ‘n entrepreneursdag en die opstel van ‘n inkomste-en-uitgawes-staat benodig word;
- ‘n EBW-lesplan kan opstel en aantoon dat dit praktykgerig aangebied kan word met suksesvolle benutting van moderne tegnologie en alternatiewe onderrighulpmiddels, byvoorbeeld opvoedkundige speletjies; en
- besigheids- en sosiale waardes en beginsels kan toepas en integreer op ’n reformatoriese, etiese en morele vlak in EBW-lesse.

After completing this module, students should be able to
- communicate and render written proof of basic knowledge of the history of money and bartering as well as the role of money and electronic bank services;
- discern and identify the basic economic concepts, namely “needs” and “desires” as well as the role of limited resources to meet these needs;
- display knowledge of the production process and understand the role of households as producers and consumers while utilising goods and services, productivity and economic growth effectively;
- display knowledge of accountancy and financial concepts, income and expenditure, savings and banks; show skills in terms of compiling a personal budget and calculating profits; and solve practice-directed problems;
- have knowledge of entrepreneurship, business types (including formal and informal businesses) and their roles, their pros and cons, as well the skills needed in presenting an event for entrepreneurs and the compilation of an income and expenditure statement;
- set and illustrate an EMS lesson plan and be able to demonstrate that its offering can be practice-orientated while successfully incorporating modern technology and alternative teaching resources such as educational games; and
- apply and integrate ethical business and social values and principles in EMS lessons on a reformed, ethical, and moral level.
