Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente
- die eienskappe en waardes van ‘n suksesvolle onderwyser van voorskoolse leerders kan identifiseer;
- die kollektiewe rolle van die onderwyser van voorskoolse kinders kan verduidelik;
- tussen die vaardighede kan onderskei waaroor die onderwyser van voorskoolse leerders moet beskik om hierdie rolle te vervul;
- die invloed van die onderwyser se siening van die jong kind op hul onderrig kan ondersoek;
- die wyses kan beskryf waarop jong kinders optimaal leer;
- ontwikkelingsgeskikte aktiwiteite vir jong kinders kan beplan, wat op optimale onderrig-leer gegrond is;
- die belangrikheid kan regverdig van ouerbetrokkenheid by hulle voorskoolse kinders se skoolervarings; en
- strategieë kan ontwerp om ouerbetrokkenheid by die skool/VKO-sentrum te bevorder.

After completing this module, students should be able to
- identify the characteristics and values of a successful teacher of preschool learners;
- explain the collective roles of the teacher of preschool children;
- distinguish between the skills that the teacher of preschool children must have to fulfil these roles;
- investigate the way the teacher’s view of the young child influences their teaching;
- describe how young children can learn optimally;
- plan development-appropriate activities for young children based on optimal teaching-learning;
- justify the importance of parent involvement with their preschool children’s school experiences; and
- design strategies to improve parent involvement with the school/ECD centre.
