Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente
- die kennis kan gebruik wat in OPVS121 verwerf is om verskillende beskouings en teorieë aangaande leer te analiseer;
- kennis dra van die teorieë wat leiersfigure in die Opvoedkunde ontwikkel het;
- hierdie teorieë kan belyn met Christelike oogpunte en terselfdertyd ook ʼn persoonlike filosofie van opvoeding begin ontwikkel;
- in staat wees om ‘n positiewe leeromgewing te skep, met inagneming van persoonlike leerstyle van leerders;
- in staat wees om die begrippe “intelligensie” en “leerstyle” te begryp en toe te pas;
- bewus wees van die nuutste navorsing oor intelligensie;
- insig hê in die kognitiewe prosesse van die brein, perseptuele ontwikkeling, asook die rol van motivering in leer;
- die belangrikheid van die kind se taalontwikkeling kan begryp;
- die invloed van kulturele diversiteit en sosio-ekonomiese status op die skolastiese vordering en funksionering van leerders kan omskryf; en
- die morele ontwikkeling van die kind kan beskryf en weet dat die Skepper die mens gevorm het om op verskeie wyses te funksioneer en dat elke individu daarom uniek is.

After completing this module, students should be able to
- use the knowledge obtained in OPVS121 to analyse various views and theories regarding learning;
- have knowledge of theories that leaders in Education developed;
- bring these theories in line with Christian points of view and also begin developing a personal philosophy regarding education;
- create a positive learning environment that takes the personal learning style of learners into account;
- understand and apply the concepts of "intelligence" and "learning styles";
- be aware of the most recent research on intelligence;
- have insight into the cognitive processes of the brain, perceptual development, as well as the role of motivation in learning;
- understand the importance of the child's language development;
- define the influence of cultural diversity and socio-economic status on the scholastic progress and functioning of learners; and
- describe the child's moral development and know that the Creator formed humankind to function in various ways and that every individual is therefore unique.
