Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente

• ‘n omvattende kennis en begrip van denkers en strominge in die geskiedenis van Christelike filosofie kan toon, d.w.s. denkers en strominge wat in hul filosofieë die Christelike wêreldbeskouing ernstig opgeneem het;
• met die geskiedenis van die Christelike denke kan omgaan (d.w.s. ontleding, evaluering en sintese);
• denkwyses, idees, temas, begrippe, beginsels en teorieë in die Christelike denke kreatief op ons wêreld kan toepas; en
• ‘n ontleding van primêre tekste deur Christelike denkers kan aanbied, die tekste binne hul historiese konteks kan plaas en die invloed van hierdie tekste op latere filosofiese idees kan aandui.

After completing this module, students should be able to

• demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of thinkers and trends in the history of Christian philosophy, i.e. thinkers and trends who took the Christian worldview seriously in their philosophies;
• engage with (i.e. analyse, evaluate, and synthesise) knowledge of Christian thinking's history;
• apply thinking patterns, ideas, themes, concepts, principles and theories in Christian thinking creatively to our world; and
• present an analysis of primary texts by Christian thinkers, placing the texts within their historical context and indicating the influence of these texts on later philosophical ideas.
