Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente

oor ‘n omvattende kennis en begrip beskik van rigtinggewende motiewe (bv. groot narratiewe, sosiaal verbeelde wêrelde, religieuse grondmotiewe, teoretiese “ismes” en ideologieë) met betrekking tot merkbare hedendaagse kwessies (bv. identiteit, sosio-ekonomiese klas, diversiteit, inklusiwiteit, kolonialisme, ens.);

filosofies kan handel (d.w.s. deur analise, interpretasie en sintese) met komplekse en abstrakte probleme en bronne aangaande rigtings wat huidige kwessies betreffende menslike kultuur beïnvloed;

‘n evaluasie (‘n kritiese beskouing en waardering) kan uitvoer oor standpunte aangaande rigtings wat hedendaagse kwessies betreffende menslike kultuur beïnvloed, insluitend ‘n evaluasie vanuit ‘n Christelike perspektief (die kernfokus), evaluasies vanuit ander perspektiewe, sowel as ‘n persoonlike evaluasie; en

‘n weergawe kan gee van nuwe kennis en begrip aangaande rigtings en huidige kwessies betreffende menslike kultuur deur middel van bewysgebaseerde verslae.

After completing this module, students should be able to
- have comprehensive knowledge and understanding of directional motives (e.g. grand narratives, social imaginaries, religious ground motives, theoretical isms and ideologies) of salient contemporary issues (e.g. identity, socio-economic class, diversity, inclusivity, colonialism, etc.);
- engage philosophically (i.e. through analysis, interpretation and synthesis) with complex and abstract problems and sources about the directions influencing current issues of human culture;
- conduct an evaluation (a critique and appreciation) of viewpoints about the directions influencing current issues in human culture, including an evaluation from a Christian point of view (the core focus), evaluations from other directions, as well as a personal evaluation; and
- give an account of new knowledge and understanding of human culture's directions and current issues by means of evidence-based reports.
