Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente
- geïntegreerde kennis en begrip toon van die volgende: die skep van ‘n leeromgewing wat onderrig en leer in Wiskunde bevorder, aktiewe leer, lesaanbieding, assessering en ontwikkeling van probleemoplossingsvaardighede, grootgroepaanbiedinge, koöperatiewe kleingroepe en die bevordering van onafhanklike leer in Wiskunde, insluitende die vermoë om die spesifieke konsepte en beginsels in die praktyk toe te pas en te verstaan hoe hierdie kennis met ander aspekte van die metodiek van Wiskunde-onderrig verband hou;
- die vermoë toon om ‘n verskeidenheid ondersoekmetodes te selekteer, hul geskiktheid te evalueer en in ondersoeke toe te pas wat die konsepte en beginsels van hierdie module aanspreek; en relevante probleme kan oplos wat verbetering in die onderwyspraktyk sal meebring;
- die vermoë toon om indiwidueel, of as deel van ‘n groep, komplekse probleme wat verband hou met die inhoud van hierdie module te identifiseer, te analiseer, te evalueer, krities daaroor te reflekteer en aan te spreek deur van geskikte metodes en/of teoriegefundeerde en opvoedkundige argumente gebruik te maak;
- vaardighede toon tydens die insameling, prosessering en bestuur van inligting wat in hierdie module van toepassing is, insluitende die vermoë om die inligtingsbronne te bekragtig en die inligting te analiseer, te evalueer en te sintetiseer en daarmee saam ook die gevolgtrekkings in ‘n gegewe konteks te kan toepas;
- die vermoë toon om resultate van opdragte of inligtingsoektogte en voorgestelde oplossings van lewenswerklike probleme sowel as gevolgtrekkings en eie menings te kommunikeer in goed geformuleerde argumente, met inagneming van die konvensies van intellektuele eiendom, kopiereg en plagiaat; en
- oor die ingesteldheid en vermoë beskik om volle verantwoordelikheid te neem vir eie leerbehoeftes, vordering van eie leer, besluitneming en die implementering van relevante leerstrategieë en hulpbronne om die uitkomstes van hierdie module te bereik en soortgelyke verantwoordelikhede in groepprosesse te aanvaar.

After completing this module, students should be able to
- show integrated knowledge and understanding of the following: creating a learning environment that promotes teaching and learning in Mathematics, active learning, lesson presentation, assessment and development of problem-solving skills, large-group presentations, small cooperative groups, and independent learning in Mathematics, including the ability to apply and understand the specific concepts and principles in practice and understands how this knowledge relates to other aspects of the methodology of Mathematics teaching;
- show the ability to select various investigative methods, evaluate their suitability, and apply them in the investigation of the concepts and principles that are addressed in this module; and solve relevant problems that will lead to improvements in teaching;
- show the ability to identify, analyse, evaluate critically, reflect on and address complex problems relating to the content of this module, individually or as part of a group, by using appropriate methods and/or theory-based and educational arguments;
- show skills in the collection, processing and management of information applicable to this module, including the ability to confirm the information and analyse, evaluate, and synthesise the information and also apply the conclusions in a given context;
- show the ability to communicate in well-formulated arguments the results of assignments or information searches and proposed solutions to real-life problems as well as conclusions and own opinions, taking the conventions of intellectual property, copyright, and plagiarism into account; and
- have the mindset and ability to take full responsibility for own learning needs, the progress of own learning, decision-making, and the implementation of relevant learning strategies and resources to achieve this module's outcomes and accept a similar responsibility for group processes.
