Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente
- die verwerfde kennis in OPVS121 gebruik om verskillende beskouings en teorieë aangaande leer te analiseer;
- kennis dra van die teorieë wat deur leiersfigure in die Opvoedkunde ontwikkel is;
- in staat wees om ‘n positiewe leeromgewing te skep, met inagneming van persoonlike leerstyle van leerders;
- hierdie teorieë kan belyn met Christelike oogpunte en terselfdertyd ook ʼn persoonlike filosofie van opvoeding begin ontwikkel;
- in staat wees om die begrippe “intelligensie” en “leerstyle” te begryp en toe te pas;
- bewus wees van die nuutste navorsing oor intelligensie;
- insig hê in die kognitiewe prosesse van die brein, perseptuele ontwikkeling, asook die rol van motivering in leer;
- die belangrikhheid kan begryp van die kind se taalontwikkeling;
- die invloed kan beskryf van kulturele diversiteit en sosio-ekonomiese status op die akademiese vordering en funksionering van leerders; en
- die morele ontwikkeling van die kind kan beskryf en weet dat die Skepper die mens gevorm het om op verskeie wyses te funksioneer en dat die mens daarom uniek is.

After completing this module, students should be able to
- use the knowledge acquired in OPVS122 to analyse various views and theories regarding learning;
- know the theories developed by leading educationists;
- create a positive learning environment taking into account the different learning styles of learners;
- apply these theories according to Christian viewpoints and develop a personal philosophy of teaching;
- understand and apply the concepts of “intelligence” and “learning styles”;
- be conscious of the most recent research on intelligence;
- have insight into the cognitive processes of the brain, perceptual development as well as the role of motivation in learning;
- understand the importance of the child’s language development;
- specify the influence of cultural diversity and socio-economic status on academic progression and the functionality of learners; and
- describe the child’s moral development and know that the Creator has created man to function in various ways and that each individual is unique, therefore.
