Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente
- geïntegreerde kennis kan demonstreer van die sentrale areas en ook ‘n gespesialiseerde begrip bevat van die volgende: sleutelterme, konsepte, feite, beginsels en reëls en teorieë van plant- en diervoeding en ekologie; en hierdie kennis kan toepas en evalueer in Natuurwetenskappe en Tegnologie-onderrig in die Intermediêre Fase tot graad 7;
- geskikte prosesse kan ontwikkel om inligting te versamel betreffende die invloed wat diverse leerkontekste in die Suid-Afrikaanse leeromgewing uitoefen op skoolleerders se persepsie van en prestasie in Natuurwetenskappe & Tegnologie; en die inligtingsbronne onafhanklik kan bekragtig en hierdie inligting kan evalueer en bestuur deur eie opinies te ontwikkel by wyse van goed geformuleerde argumente in geskikte akademiese besprekings;
- begrip van ‘n reeks ondersoekmetodes tydens praktikums kan demonstreer om plantfisiologie te ondersoek en opnames in ekostelsels te doen; 'n reeks van metodes kan toepas om probleme/degradering in ekostelsels te identifiseer, te analiseer en te evalueer; en metodes kan voorstel om ekostelsels te rehabiliteer en aktiwiteite kan beplan om hierdie begrip en vaardighede aan skoolleerders te demonstreer;
- die vermoë demonstreer om prosesse binne onbekende en varieerbare kontekste te bestuurs; en kan insien dat probleemoplossing konteks- en sisteemgebaseer is en nie in isolasie voorkom nie deur pedagogiese inhoudskennis in die onderwyspraktyk in Natuurwetenskappe- en Tegnologieonderrig in die Intermediêre Fase tot graad 7 binne verskillende leeromgewings in die Suid-Afrikaanse konteks toe te pas;

After completing this module, the student should be able to
- demonstrate integrated knowledge of the main areas as well as a specialised notion of the following: key terms, concepts, facts, principles, and rules and theories of plant and animal feed and ecology; and apply and evaluate this knowledge when teaching and learning Natural Sciences & Technology in the Intermediate Phase up to grade 7 and convey this knowledge for assessment during contact sessions, practicums, semester tests, and the examination (knowledge and skill);
- develop suitable processes to collect information regarding the influence of diverse learning contexts within the South African learning environment on the perception of and achievement in Natural Sciences & Technology; and validate the information sources independently and evaluate and manage the information by developing own opinions by using these opinions in suitable academic discussions through well-formulated arguments;
- demonstrate understanding of a series of investigation methods during practicums to examine plant physiology and make surveys of ecosystems; apply a series of methods to identify, analyse and evaluate problems/degrading of ecosystems; and propose methods for rehabilitation of ecosystems and be able to plan activities to demonstrate this understanding and skills to learners;
- demonstrate the ability to manage processes within unknown and variable contexts; and understand that problem-solving is context- and system-based and does not occur in isolation by applying pedagogical content knowledge in teaching practice in Natural Sciences & Technology in the Intermediate Phase up to grade 7 in various learning environments in the South African context;
- demonstrate the ability to identify, evaluate and address personal learning needs and at the same time facilitate joint learning processes; and
- act ethically and professionally by evaluating and motivating environmental conservation as part of the respect man should show towards God’s creation and guide learners towards such conduct in obedience to God’s assignment to man in Genesis 1.
