Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente
- kennis van en betrokkenheid kan toon in navorsing aangaande die fondamente van taalassessering;
- verskillende bronne kan gebruik oor taalassesseringsmetodes, -tegnieke en –praktyke;
- assesseringsdata kan versamel en assessering kan sintetiseer en evalueer om dit sodoende eties en verantwoordelik in die klaskamer toe te pas;
- assesseringsresultate kan oordra en dit op 'n eties- en akademies-korrekte wyse vir ʼn wye verskeidenheid van gehore te kommunikeer;
- teoreties met kinder- en jeugliteratuur kan omgaan deur verskillende kritiese standpunte in te neem; en
- eties kan reflekteer oor kontroversiële kwessies in kinder- en jeugliteratuur en kundigheid demonstreer in terme van die wyse waarop dit in die onderwys hanteer en gebruik kan word.

At the end of this module, students should be able to
- display knowledge of and involvement in research regarding the foundations of language assessment;
- utilise various language sources on methods, techniques and practices of assessing language;
- collect assessment data and be able to synthesise and evaluate assessment in order to apply it in an ethical and accountable manner;
- convey assessment results and communicate them in an ethical and academically precise manner to a wide variety of audiences;
- deal with children's and youth literature in a theoretical manner by using different critical viewpoints; and
- reflect ethically on controversial issues in children's and youth literature and demonstrate expertise in terms of the way it should be handled and utilised in education.
