Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente

  • gespesialiseerde GIK en PIK (gehegtheidsteorie en “CBMoTD”) kan toon rakende die belang van die herstel van die emosionele welstand en gesonde selfbegrip van leerders wat leerhindernisse ervaar ten einde te verseker dat sodanige leerders hul hindernisse oorkom en positiewe akademiese identiteite ontwikkel;
  • ’n goed geïntegreerde begrip demonstreer van hul eie oriëntasie, waardes en houding teenoor die emosionele ondersteuning van leerders met onvoldoende leergereedheid deur ’n positiewe onderwys-leerder-verhouding met leerders te bou (gehegtheidsteorie); hulself daaraan verbind om verantwoordelikheid te neem om hierdie leerders te ondersteun; en verseker dat hulle (die studente) ook verbind bly tot deurlopende professionele ontwikkeling ten einde die beste moontlike ondersteuning aan die sukkelende leerders te bied (Probleemgebaseerde Ontwikkelingsmodel vir Onderwysers); en
  • etiese en professionele standaarde kan toepas tydens die neem en verdediging van besluite binne ’n ondersteunende en inklusiewe omgewing.

After completing this module, students should be able to 

  • demonstrate specialised SCK and PCK (attachment theory and CBMoTD) on the importance of restoring the emotional well-being and healthy self-concept of learners who experience barriers to learning in order to ensure that such learners overcome their barriers and develop positive academic identities;
  • demonstrate a well-integrated understanding of their own orientation, values and attitude towards the emotional support of learners with insufficient learning readiness by creating positive teacher-learner relationships with learners (attachment theory); commit themselves to take responsibility for supporting these learners; and ensure that they (the students) also remain committed to continuous professional development in order to provide the best support possible to their struggling learners (Concerns-based Model of Teacher Development); and
  • apply ethical and professional standards in making and defending decisions within a supportive and inclusive environment.
