Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente

  • die bestuursaspekte binne die VKO-sentrum vanuit ‘n Christelike perspektief kan bespreek;
  • kennis dra van die wetgewing wat ondersteunend is vir die open van ‘n VKO-sentrum;
  • die registrasieproses van ‘n VKO-sentrum kan beskryf;
  • insig kan toon aangaande die bestuur van personeel, ouers en leerders;
  • programme en stelsels kan analiseer en implementeer wat die volg van ‘n kurrikulum asook die suksesvolle bestuur van so ’n sentrum sal ondersteun;
  • belangrike konsepte in die besigheidswêreld kan verduidelik soos begrotings, fondsinsamelings en die aanwending van fondse;
  • begrip kan toon vir hul rol/verantwoordelikheid as leier met die oog op die ouer as die kliënt, kollegas as deel van ‘n span en leerders as afhanklikes;
  • kan beskryf hoe dissiplinesituasies en ander meer komplekse situasies in ‘n VKO-sentrum bestuur sal word, met die oog op die ouer en leerders as kliënt; en
  • die ondersteuningsnetwerke en organisasies kan beskryf wat deel vorm van hul sentrum se netwerk.

After completing this module, students should be able to

  • discuss the management aspects within the ECD centre from a Christian perspective;
  • be aware of legislation that supports the opening of an ECD centre;
  • describe the registration process of an ECD centre;
  • show insight regarding the management of staff, parents, and learners;
  • analyse and implement programmes and systems that support the pursuit of curriculum and the successful management of such a centre;
  • explain fundamental concepts in the business world such as budgets, fundraisers, and the appropriation of funds;
  • show understanding of their role/responsibility as a leader keeping in mind the parent as the client, colleagues as part of a team, and learners as dependents;
  • describe how disciplinary situations and other more complex situations will be managed in an ECD centre, keeping in mind the parent and learners as clients; and
  • describe the support networks and organisations that form part of their centre’s network.
