Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente

• oor ‘n kennisbasis beskik op grond waarvan hulle ‘n omvattende en gedetailleerde bespreking oor die eie aard van die Afrikaanse letterkunde kan onderneem, met spesifieke verwysing na verskillende prosavorme;
• oor kennis van etiese en professionele praktyk beskik op grond waarvan hulle gepaste voorgeskrewe prosatekste vir die klaskamersituasie kan herken en teen die agtergrond van ʼn diverse onderwyskonteks kan beoordeel;
• oor ‘n kennisgeletterdheid beskik op grond waarvan hulle oor die tiperende eienskappe van prosa aan die hand van ʼn voorgeskrewe teks kan reflekteer;
• metodes en werkswyses kan toepas op grond waarvan hulle die vermoë toon om Afrikaanse letterkunde aan die hand van die bostaande letterkundige genres se tiperende eienskappe te evalueer; en
• die vermoë toon om voorgeskrewe prosatekste aan die hand van toepaslike literatuurteorieë te analiseer.

After completing this module, students should be able to

• possess a knowledge base that enables them to undertake a comprehensive and detailed discussion of the distinctive nature of Afrikaans literature, with specific reference to different prose forms;
• possess knowledge of ethical and professional practice that enables them to identify appropriate prescribed prose texts for the classroom situation and evaluate them against the background of a diverse educational context;
• possess a knowledge literacy that enables them to reflect on the characteristic features of prose by means of a prescribed text;
• apply methods and approaches on the basis of which they can demonstrate the ability to evaluate Afrikaans literature with reference to the characteristic features of the aforementioned literary genres; and
• demonstrate the ability to analyse prescribed prose texts by means of applicable literary theories.
