Ná die voltooiing van hierdie module sal studente
- geïntegreerde kennis en begrip van onafhanklike leer in Fisiese Wetenskappe, die toerusting en bestuur van klaskamers/laboratoriums, die keuring, evaluering en implementering van gepaste leermateriaal, die vervaardiging en gebruik van onderrighulpmiddele in swak toegeruste klaskamers, die gebruik van tegnologie in die onderrig en leer van die vak, inklusiwiteit, inheemse kennisstelsels en etiek in die Fisiese Wetenskappe kan toon; oor basiese begrip beskik hoe hierdie kennis aan ander aspekte van die onderrigmetodiek van die vak verwant is;
- oor die vermoë beskik om ʼn verskeidenheid toepaslike ondersoekmetodes te selekteer, hul gepastheid te evalueer en hulle in ondersoeke binne die konteks van hierdie module toe te pas; probleme kan oplos wat tot verbetering in die onderrigpraktyk kan lei, met inagneming van etiese waardes en aksies, asook die wisselwerking tussen wetenskap, tegnologie en die gemeenskap;
- oor die vermoë beskik om, as individu of as deel van ʼn groep, komplekse probleme verwant aan die inhoud van hierdie module doeltreffend te identifiseer, krities te ontleed en die hoof te bied deur gepaste metodes en/of teoriegebaseerde en opvoedkundige argumente te gebruik;
- oor vaardighede met betrekking tot die versameling, verwerking en bestuur van inligting toepaslik vir hierdie module beskik, insluitend die vermoë om die bronne te staaf, die inligting te ontleed, evalueer en sintetiseer, asook die resultate in ʼn gegewe konteks toe te pas;
- oor die vermoë beskik om eie idees en menings te ontwikkel wat op die resultate van werkopdragte of inligtingsoektogte en voorgestelde oplossings van ware lewens- probleme gebaseer is en dit in goed geformuleerde argumente en deur die handhawing van toepaslike professionele en etiese beginsels asook konvensies kan kommunikeer; en
- die ingesteldheid en vermoë toon om volle verantwoordelikheid vir hul eie leerbehoeftes, eie leervordering, besluitneming en die implementering van tersaaklike leerstrategieë en hulpbronne te neem om die uitkomste van hierdie module te bereik en ook ʼn soortgelyke verantwoordelikheid vir groepsprosesse te demonstreer.

After completing this module, students will be able to
- demonstrate integrated knowledge and understanding of self-directed learning in Physical Science, classroom/laboratory equipment and management, selection, evaluation, and implementation of appropriate teaching materials, the production and use of teaching aids in poorly equipped classrooms, the use of technology in teaching and learning the subject, inclusivity, indigenous knowledge systems, and ethics in Physical Science; have a basic understanding of how this knowledge relates to other aspects of the subject’s teaching methodology;
- have the ability to select various relevant research methods, evaluate their appropriateness, and apply them in investigations within the context of this module; solve problems, which can lead to improvement in teaching practice, taking into account ethical values and actions, as well as the interaction between science, technology, and the community;
- possess the ability, as an individual or as part of a group, to effectively identify complex problems related to the content of this module, critically analyse them, and provide solutions using appropriate methods and/or theory-based and educational arguments;
- have skills related to the collection, processing, and management of information relevant to this module, including the ability to cite sources, analyse, evaluate, and synthesise information, as well as apply the results in a given context;
- develop their own ideas and opinions based on the results of assignments or information and proposed solutions to real-life problems and communicate them in well-formulated arguments while adhering to appropriate professional and ethical principles and conventions; and
- demonstrate the attitude and ability to take full responsibility for their own learning needs, progress in their own learning, decision-making and the implementation of relevant learning strategies and resources to achieve the outcomes of this module; show a similar responsibility for group processes.
